Main research interest
Phylogeny, biogeography and ecology of flower chafers (Coleoptera: Scarabaeidae: Cetoniinae) and other members of plant feeding Scarabaeidae (in co-operation with Dominik Vondráček). Ecology of carrion communities.
Main ongoing projects:
- Immature stages of flower chafer groups from all around the world as well as higher phylogeny of the subfamily Cetoniinae using molecular and morphological data from larval and adult stages.
- Phylogeography and phylogeny of several European flower-chafers (including Oxythyrea Mulsant, 1842 and Potosia cuprea (Fabricius, 1795).
- Aspects of ecology and ontogenetic development of rose-chafers.
Ecology of carrion insects on carcasses of small vertebrates.
